Requesting the Joint Committee on Government and Finance to make a study of the State's emergency preparedness for a large scale disaster.

Whereas, This State should be fully prepared to meet the needs of its citizenry in the event of a large scale disaster, whether it be of natural or other causes; and
Whereas, This State should assess its capacity to mount an emergency response to a large scale disaster to assure its citizenry that it is properly prepared for such an event; and
Whereas, This State should create a pilot program in a rural area of the State to improve its medical readiness to respond to potential disasters, and this pilot program should be used as a tool to better assess the State's capacity to respond to large scale disasters in all of the State's rural areas; therefore, be it
